LECTURA RECOMENDADA PARA MAESTR@S DE PRIMARIA




Quería aprovechar la ocasión para recomendaros un libro que ha caído en mis manos y que es una pequeña joya que nos puede resultar de gran ayuda para perfeccionar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje que proponemos en el aula, más concretamente en lo referido a la comprensión lectora. Se trata de Estrategias de lectura, escrito por Isabel Solé (1).

Es un texto que paso a paso nos permite descubrir el camino que nuestros alumnos realizan desde que visualizan un texto por primera vez hasta que aprenden y construyen conocimiento con él. El primer consejo que nos da es ser conscientes de que leer no implica necesariamente comprender. Para que se de esta relación son necesarias varias premisas como que el texto sea coherente, que esté adaptado a las posibilidades, edad e intereses de los alumnos, que puedan apoyar su comprensión en su saber previo sobre el tema, que les active una cierta expectativa, una curiosidad. Con todo ello, si se consigue que el lector encuentre un “sentido” al texto, convoca la comprensión del mismo. Pero, si no se consigue llegar a encontrar esa razón de ser del texto y la comprensión no llega a buen puerto, la escritora nos alerta de la ansiedad que puede llegar a crear en nuestros alumnos desconocedores como son del metalenguaje necesario para hablar de su incapacidad para comprender. 

El siguiente peldaño en la escalera hacia el éxito en la comprensión lectora se da cuando tras comprender lo que hemos leído, integramos ese conocimiento que nos proporciona a nuestra estructura mental interna, es decir, aprendemos. Un texto que no proporciona o añade información nueva, que no crea controversia en nuestras creencias y experiencias previas, en definitiva, que no modifica de ningún modo nuestro modelo cognitivo, no nos permitirá aprender. 

Y por último, el éxito en el proceso de comprensión lectora se da cuando reciclamos todo ese saber aprendido de un texto, lo recuperamos de ese cajón de la memoria donde lo habíamos guardado y lo utilizamos para realizar una creación personal. 

En definitiva, tratándose de un libro sobre estrategias de lectura nada mejor que predicar con el ejemplo, con un texto de fácil lectura, que enlaza y llama constantemente a sus lectores como si nos hablara en primera persona y que consigue modelar una imagen muy clara y concisa de lo que los maestros deberíamos tener en cuenta para guiar a nuestros alumnos hacia la motivación y el gusto por la lectura.

Para ejemplificar todo lo expuesto os propongo una actividad en línea que recoge los pilares mencionados anteriormente. Se trata de un texto con actividades, propuesto para tercer ciclo de primaria que conecta con facilidad con los lectores de esta edad y que al realizarse por medio del ordenador añaden mayor interés y motivación a la lectura. ¡Espero que os guste!
